Mysterious people of controversial origins, the berbers of Morocco have developed, over the centuries, a jewellery craft, varied and gleaming, which stunts the foreign traveller.
Created to enhance their beauty on festive occasions, from the Rif to the Sahara, the gorgeous adornments of berber women harmonise silver (culturally more noble and beneficial than gold) with semi-precious stones such as amber, onyx, coral,...
Associating markings of tribal belonging, symbolic functions and protective virtues, each piece of jewellery becomes a message relating to the life of she or he who wears it.
This strange craft, used to embellish as well as to identify and protect against the unknown, rests on an unchanging craft, transmitted from father to son, in jewellery’s historical centers such as Tiznit and Essaouira in the south of Morocco.

WHY AMENTET ? *
Amentet is a synthesis of this jewellery craft, always stunning, but which extravagance of forms and volumes can somewhat disconcert the foreign buyer who, beyond the ethnicity, looks for a jewel that can be worn daily, in a setting other than the berber contryside.
So, for the first time, a unique collection of 26 solid silver pendants using the main berber and touareg aesthetic symbols is being offered to the public. Unity of size (no more than 10 cm of diameter), of weight (maximum of 35 g, stone included), of harmony and sobriety which can be worn by women in all occasions, in Africa as in Europe or elsewhere.
Each item is conceived in the purest moroccan tradition by craftsmen from Essaouira, using the ancestral technics of melting, carving, engraving and setting stones.
So you can appreciate their work and enjoy those exceptional pieces at best prices, whether you are a jeweller, in the import trade or an individual buyer, our collection awaits you in our “Boutique”.
*AMENTET Under that name, the egyptians of antiquity referred to far away lands west of the Nile, which their ancestors might have come from... Morocco, of which they possessed a surprising geographical knowledge in spite of its remoteness, might be all or part of this “far west”, this “Amentet” original land, crusible of the berber culture...
