BERBER OR TOUAREG ?

Where as the traditional berber jewellery benefited from a Spanish-arabic influence, principally due to the exodus of jews to Morocco in the XVI th century and their settling in “mellahs” where they became the main craftmen of Moroccan jewellery making, Touareg jewellery, of the same ethnic background, stayed centered in its nomadic setting, between North Africa an Sub Saharan Africa, with its own symbols, its peculiar forms, its desert stories.

The collection of Amentet pendants has drawn from those two aesthetic wells without ever mixing them or taking away any of their authenticity.
This is why the catalog distinguishes the respective influences of each item we present.
